birthday weeks is upon us - hotpot
Birthday weeks is upon us!!
I’m very lucky and thankful that my siblings and I get along and are good friends as adults - we all have birthdays close to each other (almost every other week) so have started our annual Birthday Weeks.
All 3 of us live in the same city so we’re able to meet up on each other’s actual birthday. Our tradition is to have the other 2 siblings pay for the bday sibling’s dinner (their choice of restaurant). We do a belated celebration when our parents are in town too - we all get our own individual birthday dinner. As someone that probably has a “Quality Time” love language, this is my favorite way to celebrate with loved ones.
My brother decided to eat hotpot since it has been very rainy and cloudy and not all that hot in TX (compared to "normal" summer weather). On the way to dinner we were chatting about the current cyclosporiasis outbreak out of precaution.
I did take a photo of us pre-food order to send to the family chat and knew our mom was going to mention the outbreak too, haha.
Everything was so yummy though! I'm truly so thankful to have such a wonderful relationship with my siblings - I love that we have our own traditions outside of our regular family hangouts.
