technically junited
This post is technically Junited, but more like I read some posts recently that I really liked.
AetherAnne - Screens Are Not Necessarily the Enemy
I find it really interesting that people tend to think in the extremes when doing digital minimalism/detox/etc, when often I think it’s just that you need to figure out your relationship to screens. I also really liked Critical and Passive Screen time.
Last week I spent like 12 hours viewing a Procreate screen… but I was ACTIVELY drawing. So… ya. I spend a couple of hours reading nonfiction books on Libby that I checked out from the library.
AWSketch - Emboldened Ones
Good points and criticism of the current vibes of TCAF on becoming less and less original comics focused.
I can’t remember if I blogged about it before, but this goes hand in hand with more artists that I see that do a lot of produced designed merch (like acrylic charms, enamel pins, ita bags, etc) and less and less of art prints (aka showing art) at artist alley. It’s not bad… but maybe a little sad?? I carry produced merch at my table too (acrylic charms) so these are just things I wonder about whenever I decide what merch I want to showcase.
(On like… more business note, when I did my inventory I also took a look at my profit/margins.)
Rurupoi - Delicious in drawing
I love all of Rurupoi’s posts (so much goodness!!) but I really liked how she developed visual shorthands to draw ingredients in a simplified and cute way :3.
Edit: Decluttering series still happening! I committed a cat crime in my house by discarding some cardboard boxes perfectly cat sized u_u. Sorry!!!
