workshopping a lil scrungly guy
Something that is a little niche??? is how a lot of artists make character mascots of themselves or their brand. Or you’ll see people draw themselves in a specific way especially manga freetalk where artists draw themselves.
Anyways I want one too! I mainly like to feature scrungly cats (scrungly momo and poppy!!!) or like a bendy animal.
I had updated my “logo banner” a few months ago but forgot to add it to my sites. I really like how this little doodle wave looks like a mouth. I tried to make the extra marks look like how I would sketch a landscape/vignette type of thing.
I tried to do a version that was geometric but it didn’t really feel like a good representation of my style (too polished!!). So I iterated some face ideas involving the dd as eyes (this is very henohenomoheji face).
I also made a new favicon logo to replace the favicon cat I used to have (directly traced from one of my IRL doodles to keep that handfeel)
I also doodled possible bodies to draw a complete creature. “fiddery” is pretty much a nonsensical alias anyways so I think this kind of scribbliness works. I also decided to give them a dress for cuteness. I like how the face is left open ended (like how I have lots of gaps in my sketches).
Also most importantly I like when something easy for me to draw… lol.
Anyways, I'm planning out my display for my upcoming conventions (and also my digital catalog) so I'm going to add this lil guy to those graphics hehe.
