xmas 2025

Happy Belated Christmas!!

We are on a 2 week break at work since business is slow during these two weeks so have decided to just take off entirely. So it’s nice to have a winter break.

As usual I hope to do some end of year resetting so that I can start fresh in the new year.

Anyways, to Christmas:

I usually keep my visit to my parents short-ish - my brother and I drove in on Christmas Eve morning, and drove back on the 26th. We have a low key Christmas as we are all adults now and don't have any kids to do extra Christmas-y things. But quality time is always so nice.

^ We have snack/gas/restroom stop we like to stop at (not Buc-ees - though we stopped there on the way back) and these two chickens just hanging out at the parking lot. So rural TX, lol!

This year I bought my iPad, Kobo reader, and cross stitch... though I mostly ended up working on my cross stitch at our table and didn't end up using my ipad or ereader at all.

^ I am on part 2/9 of the grid I'm working on. I've been trying to track time as best I can and I'm past 60 hours HAHA. I also brought my reading clamp light (that I bought for my outdoor market lighting) which worked out really well as the day was very overcast and cloudy at times.

My mom accidentally bought Christmas ornaments for miniatures. She doesn't do any online shopping, so this was a funny story for us. She also bought these Christmas headbands that we all wore just for something fun and festive.

zavb gbn <- Momo and Poppy are zooming around and ran across my keyboard.

Our family tradition is to open presents on Christmas day. I'm not a big gift giver so I find it challenging to shop for presents, but at the same time I do feel like effort is needed to make Christmas fun as an adult.

I gave everyone a small present but also made a little blind box activity for my family to do (the korean moru doll). This was fun because I also included myself since I also wanted to make a craft haha. So cute - we ended up making ours right away and put the dolls on the Christmas tree (HAHA they were meant to be) and they just live there now.

And finally, here's the food pics from the Christmas Eve party (just family) and the Christmas Day party (our filipino friend group):

My favorite part of going to these parties is getting all the filipino desserts that are at parties (also food). I really love filipino egg pie (which is almost like filipino style leche flan but in a pie crust), and also sooo many ube desserts. The ube crinkle cookies might have been my favorite!!

Our parents sent us home with some leftovers and now I'm finishing up the year here.
