cross stitch project 2
Continued progress!!
My Q-Snap frame came in and I have switched over to that. I ordered a grime guard to go with it, but you can’t pick the design you get LOL and I wasn’t a huge fan of what I got. But luckily DIY grime guard is and easy to make and sew (simple math + adding elastic into channels).
I had leftover remnants from my rag quilt project (I don’t think I posted it here yet) and also elastic from when I was going to make fabric masks ha ha. Yay free project.
Daily progress has slowed a bit as work has gotten a little busy + I also wanted time to rot and play games/read. I finished most of the bottom half! I have 1 square of thread I need to do - for whatever reason I think it might be the only square of its color so I’ve been putting it off.
I also ended up getting a Thomas Kincaide 1999 Counted Cross Stitch set from ebay! I believe the seller is an older retired woman who is selling some of her stash/restoring kits. I think for this patten I’ll photocopy the pattern so that it can be reused…
Anyways, pics here:

9/16 - Decided to start finishing the bottom left quadrant - the white/light grey threads are SO close in color. They might be exact colors.

9/17 - More cross stitching at lunch!

9/17 my Q-Snap came in so I switched over to that. Working on more of the fun colors.

9/18 - Decided to tackle the right side of the forest colors

9/19 - More filled in. Experimenting with easier ways to keep track of my counting (tho I have run into a lot of miscounts LOL). Also I made the grime guard!

9/20 - Finishing the black area

9/21 - Filing in the light grey blue of the mountain reflection. When I pull a floss color I do try to use up as much as I can. The top mountains were also worked on.

9/22 - My setup to work on this during lunch outside.

9/23 - Progress from last night was finishing the confetti areas of the grass.

9/24 - Finally tackled the big swatches of white. These are probably my least favorite to do. I stopped to get morning coffee before work so I could have good daylight to work on this. I also finished up the bottom half so I shifted the pattern to work on the top left.

9/28 - Suddenly got a bit busy at work and also took a break from creative hobby to play video games and read LOL. I decided to get coffee after running errands (picking up cat food) with the intention to work on this at the coffee place. It's always so nice to have a portable hobby you can take outside...

10/2 - Working on sky pieces. I think after I use up the current "dark red violet" thread, I'll try to work on finishing the mountains. I don't want to leave the white threads for last. LOL.
