i have art block rn
I’ve had an art block for most of 2026 so far. IT’S BAD. I could tell it was coming when I didn’t have my annual EOY drawing spree.
I was dming my fellow fujoshi friend that I need some kind of fandom pair to fuel me to draw! She and I have very similar tastes in tropes that we like so I love talking to her when we are fixated on ships.
We like joking that yaoi is our vice of choice.
I haven’t drawn fanart since January (a Heated Rivalry doodle) and my OC art has been sporadic this year.
By the way, my art block isn’t because of any anxiety or feeling discouraged about posting art online (due to scraping or any of that). I just… have it!
I have enjoyed drawing my “normie” drawings (like my furniture and clothes) but my true happiness is drawing my OTPs (One True Pair). I feel like that meme kid yelling while drawing when I get to draw my OTPs. LOL. Self-indulgent drawing is the best!!!
Art blocks aren’t inherently bad and I know I usually just have to wait it out, but I am definitely missing that drawing feeling.
On a side note, I do always read a lot of BL webtoons/manga (self-contained stories) but I usually don't feel like drawing fanart of those, lol. There is just something that I like about drawing ships for myself.
