i love lamp (and home)
I love living alone - it’s something I work hard to maintain. I remind myself of this when I see other people reach life milestones that I might not ever reach. Oh, also when it’s the weekend and I have to do all the chores myself. LMAO.
I have a “cute” apartment since I can decorate it however I like. I used to work at a Furniture Store and have acquired many furniture items from them (mostly accessories and smaller footprint items). I also studied Architecture for a few years at uni (I never finished but the design interest is still there).
I drew some of the main core pieces here (I forgot to draw my counter stools but they are the HAY About a Stool 32 with White seats/oak legs):

If I had to pick a design style of my space it would lean towards mostly Scandinavian modern, though this evolved because I picked furniture/colors that I liked rather than aiming for an aesthetic. I like light woods and colors that are very calming and cozy. Momo and Poppy match the aesthetic by coincidence lol.
My sofa is a Case Study daybed from Modernica (a replica of George Nelson daybed). I got it for free from a previous client I worked with who was replacing her sofa.
I LOVE LAMPS (technically, luminaires but whatever)!! I rarely use the overhead lighting (at least in the living/bedroom space), and like having lots of lamps instead.
My nightstand lamps are a planned obsolescence (cry) splurge: the Panthella 320 lamps in Opal White (integrated LED that is not repairable). I didn’t make this choice lightly. I’ve replaced the shade twice (due to the cats knocking over enough times to hit the sweet spot of cracking the arcylic shade). When the LED stops working I’ll probably just keep the lamps as sculptural pieces.
My other favorite lamp is my Nelson Pear Lotus Floor lamp. You would think the shade is paper but it’s actually a polymer - very textual. The shape is so good and cute.
My bedroom is cozy. Everything on my bed (except for the bedframe) was bought at the furniture store I worked at with my employee discount. This means I have a pretty high quality memory foam mattress, sleep on linen (made in italy) sheets, and sleep on nice pillow (I sleep on the memory foam pillows and my cats get to enjoy the down pillows lol). I do use the flat sheets when I make my bed as I like sleeping in a linen sandwich and it so nice and cooling.
I also have 3 Bertoia Dining Chairs (no table), an Eames Plywood Lounge Chair (LCW) that are "The Chair"... with stuff piled on top of them LOL. I do have two stools that I forgot to draw that are from HAY. And also a Sayl chair for my desk.
Anyways... that's it! I've been sitting on this post so I just want to publish it.
