digital decluttering
Digital clutter creeps up on me!!
Sadly I haven’t de-googled myself for emails (yet) - I do have a protonmail account, but would like to have multiple emails for artist things vs other personal IRL stuff (so I would need a paid plan). To be clear, I’m perfectly fine with going with a paid plan - I just want to be sure of which service I’m subscribing to.
edit: Shortly after writing this I ended up upgrading to protonmail plus, and have set-up new emails (with my domain) for personal correspondence.
I’ve also added a new link to my posts where you can respond directly through email in addition to leaving a comment (taking inspiration from bear blog).
On a side note, I had some free time and went through and purged emails. A lot of things (like tracking/receipts etc) just get archived but there are a lot of email newsletters that just get piled up. I’m trying my best to unsubscribe to those while I come across them.
It is pretty frustrating that marketers use so many loopholes to send newsletters to your inbox (I see it from the marketing end as well since we also send out newsletters to our own mailing list). Something that I’m thankful for is that our team takes email marketing very seriously and is very careful not to overload inboxes (in 2025 we only sent out 8 emails - I know this because my personal email is subscribed).
I do have a couple of email newsletters that I genuinely enjoy reading (mostly from small business stationery shop owners):
- Wakako from Baum-Kuchen
- Yoseka Stationery
- Paper + Craft Pantry (Austin Stationery Store)
