market: catty bat art market!

Catty Bat Art Market went great! It is hosted at a local comics shop in Austin and started/run by artists. I’ve had several artist friends vend there before & I've attended as a customer, so I was excited to be part of the lineup this run.

Here is the lineup of artists:

I think this market does a good job of taking care of their artists (provides snack and lunch) and also does a wonderful job of curating new + experienced artists in their lineup. Due to logistics, I don’t expect to be accepted for the next market, but hope to vend again at some point.

Here’s my table! I haven’t done a 3 foot setup in a long time so I had to practice the day before (but also had to see what I had stocked). I’m using this as a test for how I’d like to set up my Otakon table as well. I did not make any new product for this show and just brought what I had.

Minor Expenses:

- Table Fee ($50)

- 4 Wire Grid Panels from Daiso (I might buy 2 more now that I know these work with my current setup.

- Foldable step stool (I needed this because I’m short)

The market was only from 11am - 5pm and was pretty steady with traffic. I also got to chat with my booth neighbors which was so wonderful! I draw niche/unpopular/old fandoms so it’s always fun to see people excited when they spot it.

Jabun plushies keep me company. (I also found out the other day that Tenirabi is ending service and ShinTeni is almost at the last arc and ending in a year AHH!!)

Sweet artist CivilityJane gave these stickers to the artists. I walked around a little bit and purchased a Sanji photocard holder and some DND themed stickers (of my party composition with my Austin DND crew).

After the market I grabbed an afternoon coffee and then had dinner with some of the artists at a local eatery. It was nice to chat with some new artists and make those connections.
