screenprint + merch
I’m writing a FUN post about designs that I’ve gotten screenprinted (by my coworkers… THANK YOU), because in the past few weeks I have been getting an larger increase of people sending us AI generated images to print… and I hate it (also the images are ugly and not even good to wear).
I got into a local (next city over) con to table at in July… so it’s time for me to art crunch and consider new designs to print. This is a good opportunity and deadline to make that OC zine I mentioned before in a previous post.
I also might make more sticker sheets and die cut stickers (lower priority). I do have some other convention applications I am waiting on to see if I’ll be doing a larger restock on my acrylic charms.
Anyways, here’s some of the fun things I documented for my screenprinted items:
My "Yaoi Hands" Shirt (one of my best sellers). Yaoi Hands is a meme, and I use it lovingly. I have some fun easter eggs in the design as well (Text in the Vending Machine, the Katakana says Boys Love, etc).
I have a Colorful Ink (Offwhite Tee) version and a Black & White Tee option. I've noticed that my audience generally likes the colorful version better (probably because it can be a fresh addition to their t-shirt selection compared to other b&w tees they may already own).

Each color layer is printed separately.
Here's how the separations overlay each other:

The shirts get loaded onto our press to get the alignment (registration) right before proceeding with the run. This part can be very time consuming depending on the complexity of a design which is why printers typically ask for shirt minimums to be met since that can sometimes be the most complicated part of a job.

My coworkers printing the black tee version:

I also made a shopping tote (Bread Tote!!) that is vaguely fandom (references to bread that appeared in the manga/anime series Yakitate!! Japan). But more importantly it's a really nice market tote for groceries.

My most recent screenprint design: My Fujoshxt Tote (another Fujoshi/Yaoi inspired design)

Anyways please don't reach out and try to screenprint AISlop designs because it actually does depress me.
